Honestly Pidge..Katie had no idea how much time passed. It felt like forever because of how messed up her emotions had her but it probably had been more than fifteen minutes tops? However long it was, it felt good to just let it out for once. She had always done her best to keep up an image, to stay strong in the face of things and not let herself seem weak compared to the others. Not that emotions were weak, she knew that they weren't, but there was still a stigma nonetheless.

This? This was something she'd needed though.

When she finally calmed down, largely thanks to the words he kept repeating to her, her forehead was resting against Shiro's chest and her arms were fit snug around his waist. A lifeline. A comfort-zone. Just like Matt always was.

"I don't want to lose any of my family again, alright?" she whispered as she opened her eyes, absently nuzzling a bit closer to him, just seeking out more of his presence. Needing to feel him right there despite hugging him like she was. "I can't."
