[Loki, being the city boy that he is, has no idea just how precarious the rocks underneath the water can get. So far he hasn't had issues as he dares to draw a bit closer, stepping over some of the rocks and making only the slightest grimace at the slick feel of the algae growing on them.]

Fair. If you aren't fishing though why are you just reclining on some rocks in the water? Swimming?

[He's maybe five feet or so away from the outcropping that the other man was perched on, watching Thor shift sideways.]

You grew up around here then. I doubt you're from the mainland if you've been doing this your whole life. [Loki's almost envious of the other.

Another step, seemingly fine and he makes to cross to a larger rock that's actually sticking out of the water when he loses his footing. He doesn't have any time to try and catch himself and hits the water--and the rocks--hard, the foot that had slipped caught between some of the rocks and twisted oddly while the hand he brought down to catch himself comes down on an oyster shell that had been obscured from view in the water.

The man let's out a sharp, pained sound, shoes lost to the water as he jerks his hand back as the salt water stings it, blood seeping down his hand.]
