victory road setting?! u know who
... Well, best to make what she can of it. Aqua's been traveling for a little while, and it's when she reaches Violet City that she takes a longer break. Her companions deserve it, too, and she's taking a breather outside the center. Her Flabébé (named Kairi), Cutiefly (Blossom), Espurr (Nellie), and Swablu (Sora) are playing together, and Aqua watches them fondly.
She's off her guard. It'd be easy for anyone to sneak up on her. ]
DO I THO
He was traveling without the aforementioned blonde, for once, and had headed to Violet City to pick up some things and maybe take a spin through Sprout Tower to see what he could find for himself.
Flood the Phantump was twirling about in the air as they headed along the path while Mr. Pickles the Flareon and Remnant the Typhlosion led the way. Vanitas sauntered along after them with Scrapper the Houndoom on one side and Phial the Salazzle on the other, the ladies flanking him protectively like always. The last member of the party was Undertaker the Ribombee who was perched on Vanitas's head keeping a look out like the badass little bodyguard fairy he was.
Which is exactly why he spotted Aqua and her Pokemon first.
The little fairy let out a twill and, wings fluttering, he drifted down to direct Vanitas's gaze.]
Spot something goo--
[Expecting some pathetic kid that would be an easy sweep, Vanitas stopped where he was because that hair color was all too familiar and there's no way--it couldn't be--]
Aqua!

And she was back in the Keyblade Graveyard. She felt like the breath had been knocked-- no, slammed out of her. Immediately, she stood up, shifting into a defensive position. Her Pokemon went back into their balls; she couldn't afford to let anything happen to them. She wouldn't forgive herself.
Extremely conscious of her breathing, Aqua glared at Vanitas, hands curled tight into fists. ]
You!
no subject
Figures one of you would show up here eventually.
[At his sides, Scrapper and Phial were watching the young woman with sharp gazes, the Houndoom baring her fangs as flames licked at her jowls while the Salazzle licked her lips and flexed her claws. Remnant had stood upright and flames seemed to ripple down her back while Flood and Undertaker took up positions on their trainer's shoulders.
Only Mr. Pickles seemed to take it all in stride, padding daintily in front of Vanitas and sitting down like the prissy little butler he was.]
All alone, Aqua? I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
no subject
It burned through her, and Aqua had to wonder why he of all people were allowed this wonderful chance to start anew. ]
Intimidating me and taunting me won't work, Vanitas. You might think I'm alone, but I'm far from it.
[ Her new companions, yes, but... as long as Aqua keeps her friends in her heart, she's never alone. ]
no subject
[For once he's not taunting just stating the truth which, in this case, gives him quite a bit of satisfaction in itself.
He smirked lazily now as his Pokemon continued to stand protectively around him and he motioned to them with a flick of his hand.]
Well, actually, I guess you're more alone than me. I've got these guys and others. Plus my friends.
[How do you like that irony, Aqua? He's the one with friends now.]
no subject
She holds her tongue, though. ]
Do your friends know what you've done? What you did to people who had never done a single thing to you?
no subject
Yes. They do.
[Bet you weren't expecting that, Aqua.
On his right shoulder, Flood the Phantump let's out a giggle, looking gleeful.]
Silly girl, silly girl~

What sort of sad story did you feed them?
no subject
[He shrugs, looking a bit smug.]
Some people are a lot more understanding than you losers.

Which is her mistake really. Forsakening the nearby forests for the human city wasn't the best of ideas. That she could admit. But with all the construction of human settlements and destruction of the trees and the forests and, well if she's truly honest, her own budding curiosity concerning these magic-less creatures, it all got the best of her. It took months of practicing shifting into a human form, making sure her tail disappeared and her ears were small enough and furless. But as the deforestation forced her to get closer to the city, she got better and focusing and maintaining the form.
All except her gem, the jewel on her forehead. Her blonde bangs were usually enough to cover it up, but not completely.
And it's too bad she's come into the city in such an awful season. After spending years having a fur coat and bundling up in her den over the winter, being human in the cold was something new. Naminé was completely unprepared for it, only finding some old clothes and a discarded coat and using just those to keep her body warm.
A big oversight. Human society was so strange and everyone seemed to look at her oddly when mentioned that she didn't have any money.
After noticing that the crowds have died down, she peeked out of the alleyway she had been huddling in for the day. The grates and steam of the restaurant beside had been enough to keep her warm for the day, but she should really try to find some actual shelter.
Which is all she can think about when she steps out and ends up colliding into another person.]
S-sorry!

Large caribou antlers protruded from his head and his eyes were a deep blue, so dark they seemed to empty sockets. The thick fur that surrounded his neck and covered most of his shoulders could almost be mistake for a part of a sweater or scarf were it not for the antlers. His long fur covered tail flicked about behind him as he walked, hooves clicking softly on the pavement. He wore a thick jacket over a long gray hoodie that fell to the middle of his thighs, the young man not bothering with anything else--his fur more than protected him from the cold.
But it didn't protect everyone.
Cloud stumbled backwards a couple of steps as he was slammed into, fangs gleaming as he started to growl only to pause.]
...Are you alright?
[She was like him. Well, not a Wendigo but she was not human.]
no subject
Or what, as her eyes get bigger the more she looks at him. Maybe it was the size of his antlers that was throwing her off or his natural height dwarfing her own, but suddenly she felt a lot smaller standing in front of him. Smaller and nervous.
He's not human at least. Her nose doesn't lie about that. But she hasn't quite seen anything like him before.]
I-I'm fine... [She doesn't sound very sure and quickly lowers her head, jewel gleaming for a second. He doesn't sound mad at least but that doesn't help her nerves. Not when she's wringing her hands like that and starting to shiver from the cold.]
...I'm sorry.
[Just please don't eat or kill her.]
It's obvious
Which wouldn't necessarily be a problem if she wasn't worried about disappointing Noctis. Other worlds hold other kinds of dangers, and it's been years since she's even been in the Realm of Light, or any world that she recognized. There was no telling what dangers were out there, and the Keyblade Master would rather not put the Prince in danger.
But he was so insistent and wore her down. She couldn't say no in the end, and just planned on taking him to a relatively safe world.
The question that really needed to be answered was his mode of transportation. There was enough room on her glider for two, but he needed his own protection in the Lanes Between. There was no telling what could happen to him there, and she wasn't sure if her magic could sustain him.
At least, not until she remembered Mickey's Star Shard. Luckily for them, the mouse king let her borrow the item, even if she did have her reservations about using it. Aqua wasn't keen on getting Noct lost in a place like Wonderland.
But everything seems to have worked like it should. Leaping off her glider and dismissing it and her armour in the Main Plaza of Disney Town, she begins to look for that familiar head of black hair.
And maybe a particular ice cream stand too.]
Noctis?
no subject
So he had pulled his typical stunt and kept asking about it, kept urging Aqua to let him come along and she had finally relented.
A trip via Star Shard later found Noctis sitting on a bench in the overly bright and cheerful town that was Disney Town, a little thrown off by that particular mode of travel. But hey, he hadn't gotten sick or anything so that was a plus. It was a bit like warping just a lot faster.
He glanced up when he heard Aqua's voice, lifting a hand to wave towards her.]
Over here!
no subject
One little trip coukd turn into another mission if she had to search all the world's for him. All cause she was foolish enough to give in to his requests.]
Thank goodness you're okay! You had me worried there for a moment. [Her smile of relief is noticeable. She had been visibly worried as she looks him over, not thinking once about how she might have broken her promise to keep him safe to all his friends. But yup, he's okay. Doesn't even look the least bit sick.
Maybe just a little disoriented from everything, given the brightness and general cheer of the town. Aqua holds out a hand for him.]
I'm sorry. It's not the best mode of travel, but it's the best I could do on such short notice.

[It's said with a lopsided grin as Noctis takes the offered hand and gets to his feet with her help only to sway once he's standing. The prince mutters a soft 'Whoa' as he almost stumbles, holding his arms out to sides as he gets his balance back.]
Okay the world was not spinning a minute ago.
[Apparently standing up was not something he should do right now and oh man were all those colors making it a bit worse.]
It's alright. Seriously--I'll be okay in a minute..or two.
[He flashes her a grin before attempting to take a step, pausing to close his eyes and trying to get his balance back properly. Slowly but surely his head stops spinning and his body stops feeling like it's in motion and he cracks an eye open then the other, shoulders sagging in relief.]
Okay. I'm good.
no subject
Somehow that grin doesn't exactly instill a lot of confidence in her. Noct, why do you have such a goofy grin at the worst of times. Gosh.
When he finally looks relaxed and ready, her own shoulders say and Aqua breathes a sigh of relief, finally smiling as well.]
You're ridiculous. Come on, I'll show you around.
