I mean it's not as if he hasn't had issues with identity or lookalikes before... at all...
But the idea of saying that made him feel even more unsettled. Shifting on his feet, hands twitching up and then falling back to his sides in an aborted intention of wrapping his arms around himself for more than one reason, Cloud finally shrugged.
"... Cloud," he said, and despite the fact that he had all the right to his own name, it felt weird, saying that, staring at... at himself. Biting his lip, he looked away. "I don't think... I should be here."
He'd really rather like to wake up, right about now, but the wet wood from where the rain was being soaked into the planks underneath his feet didn't seem to want to oblige and change into his bed.
Pretend I'm not terrible at replying consistently
Yeah that..he had known that's what was going to be said but it was still rather surreal to hear. Cloud's head spun momentarily as he watched the younger version of himself stand there so awkwardly and clearly just as unsettled as he was, only snapping out of it when he realized how chilly it was in here and the rain was helping anything.
The older blonde frowned briefly before he forced himself to relax, allowing his stance to become just a little more open and less threatening.
"..We should..let's get you someplace warm. And then we can try and figure out what's going on exactly."
I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about~
"... I guess expecting to wake up now would... be too much to ask," Cloud muttered and then looked up again, looking at the older standing down the aisle a little closer. The clothes were still all... wrong from what he'd have imagined, but if this was real life, anything could've happened, he supposed. Aside from that, though... it was weird, but while he still felt a cold, uncertain weight in his stomach, just looking at himself... was starting to feel less weird.
"Okay." Taking a breath and letting it out slowly, Cloud squared his shoulders and actually left his spot near the pool, wondering with something between annoyance and something that might have been pleased awe that he'd at least grow a little taller.
(Why couldn't it have been more, though?)

Once the younger version of himself started to come closer the older blonde nodded slightly--more to himself than the other--and turned to lead the way out of the church. Already he was trying to decide how he was going to explain this to the others though he had a feeling that any explanations would be put on hold so Tifa would mother hen the young blonde. Barrett too, most likely.
Heading straight for his bike once they were outside, Cloud swung a leg over it and settled down, motioning for the other to climb on behind him.
"Come on. It's not that far," he said in a reassuring tone because he remembered what it had been like. And while he still got motion sick here and there, he knew it was going to be worse for the younger blonde.
no subject
It was still raining, too, and with a shiver, Cloud was relieved that he wore more to bed than Zack did, at least. Otherwise he'd have been standing around in nothing but underwear right now, and that'd be embarrassing as well as even colder than he was.
Looking up when the other spoke, Cloud's reluctant groan got stuck in his throat, and his eyes widened a little as he stared at the motorcycle, actually registering the vehicle his older self had apparently come here with.
"... Wow." It was the most amazing bike he'd ever seen, but, unfortunately, that wouldn't stop him from getting motion sick on it. He almost asked how far it'd be to walk, but then didn't. It was raining, and he was barefoot; he'd already had to carefully walk between the debris on the ground just to the bike.
"It's gonna be far enough, though..." Cloud sighed, ducking his head but reluctantly climbing on behind the older blond. And hesitated a little before he wrapped his arms around his middle. "How long... will it take?"
Not just because it was... it was awkward, okay? But also because he almost expected something to happen. It felt like it should, anyway; they were the same person after all. But there wasn't so much as the sting of static electricity. Just wet cloth and leather against his wet skin.
