Y!! I'm...so not caught up on the series so sticking to like..season 2ish canon wise

[He should have been asleep hours ago but sleep didn't come easy for him most of the time. His brain was always going a mile a minute and he just couldn't get it to shut up. It had been especially bad since his accident but little things helped.

Like a warm mug of tea.

The engineer was curled up on the couch in the common room with a blanket and a steaming mug of tea, zoned out as he sipped at it absently and stared at the blank television. Things had been tense around base and he knew that was a large part of why he couldn't really just..stop. He couldn't let himself relax; there was just too much to do.

But, at the same time, he really wasn't sure how much more of this he could take.]

I am not either so you are in good company.

[He wasn't the only one out of bed. Jemma had been trying to make sense of the data readings at her desk in the lab, but it was proving to be an exercise in futility.

Entering the common room, she's not sure if Fitz is deep in thought about anything in particular, or if it's just another sleepless night. She retrieves the making of her own tea, pleased to at least find the kettle still warm.]

[Fitz hears the soft clink of the kettle on the stove and he manages to snap out of his thoughts prior to her speaking. (Which is good considering how badly he probably would have startled.) His gaze finds her and follows her movements, his mouth opening and closing a couple times before he finally let's out a sigh.]

It just feels..never ending, you know?

[His voice is soft, way softer than he'd like but there isn't much he can do about it now. He's just worried. And maybe a little bit scared of what's to come.]

Mm.

[It doesn't much matter what 'it' might be referring to. It's been one thing after the next since... well, since they left Sci Ops, really, and whatever he means, she has to agree.]
