When Prompto heard from Noctis about the Chocobo festival, he had to go. He just had to or he'd never let Noctis forget about it. Reminding him all the time about how he missed out on the best day of his life. Plus, without Ignis and Gladio there to hang around them, him and Noct could maybe... you know...

When they arrived in Altissia, and left the two adults for their own date, which made it so Prompto and Noctis could have fun on their own. Getting tugged around by Noctis was definitely unexpected, but it made him so happy that he wanted to do this all day. So when they stayed holding hands, he gave a squeeze.
